This Privacy Policy explains what information this website does and does not collect when you use the import duty and landed-cost calculator. We have built the tool to be privacy-respecting by default. Please read this alongside our disclaimer — figures produced by the calculator are estimates, not customs or tax advice.
The calculator runs in your browser
The calculator is fully client-side. Every figure you enter — product value, freight and insurance, country of origin and destination, HS code, Incoterm, and any rates or thresholds you adjust — is processed entirely within your own browser. These inputs are never transmitted to, logged by, or stored on any server we operate. We run no backend that receives your calculation data, and we keep no database of your shipments or queries. When you close or refresh the page, that data is gone unless your browser itself retains it locally.
Exchange rates
To convert between currencies, the site requests reference exchange rates from a third-party foreign-exchange data provider. This request necessarily reveals the currency pair and the standard technical information any web request carries (such as your IP address) to that provider. It does not include the values you typed into the calculator. We do not control, and are not responsible for, the privacy practices of the FX data provider; please consult their own policy.
Enquiry / quote form
If you choose to submit the optional freight or customs-broker enquiry form, the details you enter — such as your name, email address, origin and destination countries, and a description of your shipment — are sent to a third-party form processor and/or by email so that we or a partner can respond to your enquiry. We use this information solely to handle your request, and we do not sell it. If you do not submit the form, none of this information is collected.
Advertising cookies
We intend to display advertising through Google AdSense to keep the tool free. Third-party vendors, including Google, use cookies to serve ads based on your prior visits to this and other websites.
- Google's use of advertising cookies (including the DoubleClick cookie) enables it and its partners to serve ads to you based on your visits to this site and elsewhere on the internet.
- You can opt out of personalised advertising by visiting Google Ads Settings (adssettings.google.com).
- You can opt out of a wider set of third-party vendors via www.aboutads.info/choices or www.youronlinechoices.com.
Analytics
If we use a privacy-conscious analytics tool, it is to understand aggregate, anonymous usage (such as page views and country totals). Where used, it does not identify you personally and does not capture your calculator inputs.
Managing cookies
You can block or delete cookies at any time through your browser settings. Doing so will not break the calculator, since the calculation itself uses no cookies — only advertising and any analytics features rely on them.
Your rights (GDPR / CCPA)
If you are in the European Economic Area, the United Kingdom, or California, you have rights over personal data relating to you, including rights of access, deletion, and (under the CCPA) to opt out of the "sale" or sharing of personal information. Because the calculator itself operates no backend, the only personal data we handle is what you voluntarily submit through the enquiry form (if any), together with data handled by our advertising and FX partners; we will direct you to the relevant party where appropriate.
